Finding Your Life’s Purpose: Take Action and Start Living the Life You Want
Do you feel lost and unsure? Do you feel like you should be doing something greater than what you are doing right now? Do you feel like something is missing in your life? If you are feeling these things, it may be time for you to evaluate your life’s purpose. It may sound like a scary prospect to a lot of people, but as expert Life Coaches in Memphis, TN, Align To Enlighten is ready to guide you.
At Align To Enlighten, we want to remind you that it is never too late to achieve the life you want to live. Here are some ways you can use to find your life’s purpose so that you can take action and start living the life you want:
Question yourself. First and foremost, introspect and question yourself. Assess what you enjoy and what makes you happy. By understanding what it is that you want to do, you can narrow down your life’s purpose more effectively. Here are some questions that you can ask yourself:
- What made you truly proud of yourself?
- When have you experienced true happiness?
- What makes you feel really alive?
- What change could make your life happier?
- If you had the opportunity to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
Identify your strengths. By identifying your strengths, you can also identify how you can take action to enact your life’s purpose. For example, do you feel like your life’s purpose is to help or inspire others? What are your strengths that can help you achieve that? Does your strength lie in physical acts (e.g. volunteering) or does your strength lie in inspiring others through your words? If you have a hard time identifying your strengths, talk to the people around you – they may provide you with useful insight that you didn’t know about yourself.
Don’t think in absolutes. A lot of people think that their purpose has to revolve around one thing; however, we encourage you to not think in absolutes. Allow yourself to pursue your varied interests and passions. On the other hand, if you choose to focus on one purpose, that’s okay too.
Think about what you can do. Once you have identified what you want your purpose to be, think about the steps that you can take to achieve that goal. If you want, you can write your thoughts down to act as your guide. Remember, it’s okay if you don’t complete each action immediately – knowing what steps you need to take to achieve your goal is already a useful guide. It will help you move in the right direction.
Take action. Once you have identified your purpose and what steps you can take to achieve it, start taking action. You can start with short-term changes and work towards the long-term changes that you want to achieve.
